This gravestone forms part of the Bayeux War Cemetery, whose grounds were gifted by France to the United Kingdom in perpetuity. Per this deletion discussion, its use here on Wikimedia Commons is acceptable as the French prohibition on Freedom of Panorama does not apply in these circumstances. The gravestone is also a purely functional mass-produced item involving no original artistic work, and so the use of the image is also likely to be acceptable under French law. |
