Description
Deutsch: Schloss Babelsberg. Total-Ansicht des Schlosses (Rückseite). Ansicht des Schlosses nach den von Ludwig Persius (1803–1845) und Johann Heinrich Strack (1805–1880) durchgeführten Erweiterungen von der Erhöhung der südöstlichen Seite aus. Linkerhand ist das Bassin für die Fontänen zu sehen. Über den Tiefen See hinweg ist oberhalb des Bassins das Marmorpalais zu erkennen, daneben das Belvedere auf dem Pfingstberg. Rechterhand trennt die Schinkelsche Glienicker Brücke den Tiefen vom Heiligen See.

Notes Im Auftrag von Friedrich Wilhelm IV. führte Carl Graeb (1816–1884), 1851 zum Hofmaler ernannt, knapp hundert Landschaften und Veduten Preußens aus, darunter das „Album von Schloß Babelsberg: zwölf Aquarelle nach der Natur gezeichnet“ (vgl. Inv.-Nr. 80-242-K2). Nach den Aquarellen wurden Lithografien von Wilhelm Loeillot (1804–1881) und der Druckerei Winckelmann & Söhne in Berlin angefertigt. Tafel 6, F. Riegel, Potsdam 1853
