Drawing of glass O-ring joints used for making laboratory glassware.
Both sides of the joint are essentially equivalent. By putting them together in the direction of the arrows with an appropriately-sized O-ring placed in between in circular grooves on each joint (not shown on the joint on the left side for simplicity), they can be joined. They should be held together by a clamp. The O-ring can maintain a leak-tight seal between the joints.
This chemistry image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}.
It is recommended to name the SVG file “Glass O-ring joints.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.
