Summary

Description
English: Glasgow Science Centre and Tower Some facts about the tower, gleaned from the Glasgow Science Centre website http://www.glasgowsciencecentre.org/ :

127m high. The viewing cabin at the top gives views up to 20 miles. The tower is an aerofoil shape and is capable of rotating 360 degrees into a prevailing wind, driven by four 6kw motors. It has 20m deep foundations using 3000 tonnes of concrete. It is a 2.5 minute ride in the lift or 523 steps on the spiral staircase to the viewing cabin. It was closed 10-14 September 2007, so no excuse needed for not going up!
