Description
English: Image came from an eBay sale of the portrait. The artist and sitter have been dead for more than 100 years. The portrait was also published in 1913 in a book by an American publisher.

Henriette Mendel (1833-1891) Portrait by Friedrich Dürck (1809-84)
Also known as Henrietta Mendel, she was an actress who was elevated to nobility as Baroness Wallersee (1859). She was the wife (1859-1891) of Ludwig Wilhelm, Duke in Bavaria (1831-1920) and mother of Marie, Countess Larisch von Moennich (1858-1940).

A copy of this portrait appears on page 11 of Larisch's autobiography, "My Past" (G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1913). The caption reads: "Henrietta Mendel, Baroness von Wallersee, mother of Countess Marie Larisch."
