Von innen nach außen zogen sich der an der Innenseite der Mauer entlanglaufende Zwinger (A), die Stadtmauer mit dem Wehrgang (B), davor der aufgeschüttete Wall (C), die befestigte Brustwehr (D), an deren Fuß die Faussebraye (E) mit einer weiteren Brustwehr (D), dann die Escarpe (F), der nasse Graben (G), die Contrescarpe (H) und schließlich ein teilweise mit Palisaden besetztes Glacis (J). Von den fünfeckigen Bastionen aus konnte man mit Geschützen das Glacis und die Mauerfronten bestreichen.

Otto Lindheimer verstarb 1894, urheberrechtliche Ansprüche sind damit erloschen.
