Description
English: The Meal Scales, built in 1438, is a detached building which contained the meal and malt scales. Its ground floor temporarily served as a guardroom as well as a space for little shops within; it also was used as the fire engine house of the 11th quarter. In 1715 the Meal Scales was built anew. The first floor was used as a debtor's prison in former times and contained a dwelling place for the warden. In the picture a part of the „Fürsteneck“ can be seen as well.
Deutsch: Die Mehlwaage, 1438 errichtet, bildet ein freistehendes Gebäude, worin sich die Mehl- und Malzwaage befand. Ihr Unterstock diente zeitweise zur Wachtstube, auch kleine Läden wurden darin eingerichtet; dem 11. Quartier diente sie als Spritzenhaus. Im Jahre 1715 wurde die Mehlwaage neu erbaut. Der obere Stock war ehemals als Schuldengefängnis (Bürger-Custodie) eingerichtet und enthielt eine Wohnung für den Aufseher. Auf dem Bilde ist auch ein Teil des Fürsteneck sichtbar.
