DescriptionForest park trillium in multiple phases P3903.jpeg
English: Trillium in Forest Park in early spring indicate their maturity by various petal colors seen here. It is somewhat unusual to find such a range of maturity in flowers so closely spaced. The flowers first open as a pure white and over the course of a few weeks turn pink and then deep purple. The color change sometimes occurs in splotches at first which is later not visible as the rest of the petals change color to match.
