Español: .El matemático Luis Vega ha recibido esta tarde el Premio Euskadi de Investigación 2012. El Lehendakari ha destacado el “afán divulgador y pedagógico” del matemático y ha subrayado su compromiso con Euskadi dadas sus responsabilidades en la Universidad del País Vasco y en Basque Center of Applied Mathematics (BCAM ). Iñigo Urkullu ha asegurado que Luis Vega ha contribuido a la apertura de Euskadi al exterior con sus estancias y colaboraciones con las Universidades más prestigiosas de Estados Unidos, Francia o Italia. Así, con este premio el ejecutivo vasco quiere agradecer y poner en valor el trabajo realizado por Luis Vega porque, según el propio Lehendakari, ha añadido a la investigación un “claro compromiso con la gestión pública, con la apertura al exterior de nuestro País y con la divulgación”, ha concluido. Luis Vega González (Madrid, 1960) se licenció en matemáticas en la Universidad Complutense en 1982. Se doctoró en 1988 por la Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). Tras una estancia de dos años en la Universidad de Chicago, se incorporó a la UAM. En 1993 se trasladó a la Universidad del País Vasco, de la que es catedrático de Análisis Matemático desde 1995. En la actualidad el profesor Vega es director del centro de investigación de matemáticas BCAM (Basque Center for Applied Mathematics), y un experto mundialmente conocido por sus trabajos sobre ecuaciones en derivadas parciales y análisis de Fourier |
