Español: El centro fue inaugurado el 15 de mayo de 1977, desde entonces, por sus tres salas, Sala Guirau, Sala Jardiel Poncela y la Sala de Exposiciones han pasado obras de teatro, tanto de clásicos como de autores contemporáneos, zarzuela, conciertos, conferencias, danza, teatro para bebés, charlas y exposiciones de fotografías, esculturas o de figuras de relevancia en el mundo de la cultura. Con motivo del fallecimiento del actor y escritor Fernando Fernán Gómez, el centro pasó a llamarse Teatro Fernán Gómez-Centro de Arte, nombre que volvió a cambiar en 2014, bautizándole finalmente como Fernán Gómez.
