Summary

English: Karoo cycad (Encephalartos lehmannii) at the San Diego Zoo, California, USA. Identified by sign.
The long petioles have distinctive yellow collars around their bases – these persist as papery leaf scars when the leaves are dropped. Each sessile leaflet likewise has a yellowish base.[1]
