Description
English: A cabinet card copy of a daguerreotype of Emily Dickinson (unauthenticated) According to Dickinson scholar George Gleason, "the experts agree that Gura’s mere belief, unsupported by any evidence, that the sitter in his photograph looks like the young Emily Dickinson is not sufficient to establish identity." (Gleason, George. "Is It Really Emily Dickinson?" The Emily Dickinson Journal Volume 18, Number 2, Fall 2009, p. 20.)
Date Originally photographed circa 1848–1853
