| Description |
English: The Egypt Railways is the first railway line to be built in Africa and the Middle East, and the second in the world after the United Kingdom. It began construction in 1834 but the project was abandoned due to pressure by the French for political reasons, the project was resumed in 1851 and start working in 1854. Today the Railways link most of the urban and economic centers in the country, such as the ports on the Red and Mediterranean sea, and the raw shipping centers and factories, as well as all other cities and governorates of Egypt although they are not at their best performance.
مصرى: تعد سكك حديد مصر هي أول خطوط سكك حديد يتم إنشاؤها في أفريقيا و الشرق الأوسط، والثانية على مستوى العالم بعد المملكة المتحدة، حيث بدأ إنشاؤها في 1834 إذ مدت قضبان خطوط السكة الحديد فعلا وقتها في خط السويس الإسكندرية إلا أن العمل توقف بسبب اعتراض فرنسا لأسباب سياسية ثم عاد العمل في المشروع 1851 .
و بدأ التشغيل في 1854 و من ذلك التاريخ و خطوط السكك الحديد تربط بين محافظات مصر و مدنها و المراكز الحضرية و الموانئ و المصانع و أماكن إنتاج المواد الخام ذلك بالرغم من أن القطارات ليست في أفضل حالاتها و هناك سعي دائم لتطويرها إلا أنها تظل الناقل الأول للمصريين
