DescriptionEdinburgh railway Princes Street Gardens geograph-2356736-by-Ben-Brooksbank.jpg
English: Eastbound freight in Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh.
View westward, towards Haymarket and all points West and North. The train is about to pass through Waverley Station, which was not normally allowed in daytime, freight traffic being taken round on the South Suburban Line, but this was just after the Great Floods of 13 August 1948 and traffic was no doubt disrupted -- see NT2573 : Three light engines backing into Edinburgh Waverley Station and 2321049. The locomotive is a large Reid J37 0-6-0, No. 4592.
