Description
Deutsch: Mein Urgroßonkel Hans Doose fiel in mancherlei Hinsicht aus dem traditionellen Rahmen seiner Familie und war eine Art Freigeist. Obwohl er als ältester Sohn eigentlich Hoferbe gewesen wäre, zog er ein unabhängiges Leben in der Großstadt vor. Mindestens seit 1909 lebte er in Hamburg und ließ das Heimatdorf Westermühlen (Kreis Rendsburg-Eckernförde) hinter sich. Im Ersten Weltkrieg war er Soldat (Landsturmmann) und offenbar am Rhein stationiert, von wo er 1916 seiner dreizehnjährigen Nichte eine Ansichtskarte sandte. Nach dem Krieg lebte er wieder von seiner Arbeit als Schriftsetzer und Redakteur und blieb ledig.

Nach der Machtergreifung der Nationalsozialisten nahm er sich vermutlich selbst das Leben.
