this picture shows the two main bus stop signage, one is a request stpu, which require a type of waving or signalling before the bus comes, this is usually used in small suburban areas. the other is a bus stop, where the bus driver is required to stop, this is used in places near to a tube station (as seen here) or high streets and places of interest.
