Summary

Description
English: Deepdale Beck starts its descent. Seeing Deepdale Beck up on Bowes Moor 1206701 one could be forgiven for wondering why it had that name, as its dale is not remotely deep. Having flowed thus, in a wide shallow valley, across the moor, the bridge under the Bowes-Cotherstone road marks the start of its descent. From the small waterfall almost directly under the bridge, the stream cuts its way down in a series of small falls, until the valley is 50m deep, graded to the level of the River Tees, into which it flows another 7 km downstream from this point.
