Summary

Description
English: Dixon, Illinois: The Truesdell Bridge was dedicated on January 21, 1869, with a parade led by "Father" John Dixon (seated in center of bridge) and city notables. At 660 feet, this bridge is thought to be Truesdell's longest bridge. This view, looking north, also shows the temporary bridge (on left) used during construction. The river levels are low, probably due to heavy damming required for construction.
