English: West face of the Dakota Hogback, viewed from U.S. Route 287, roughly 10 miles NW of Fort Collins. The crest is about 400 feet above the road. The highest outcrop is South Platte Formation, which correlates to Cretaceous Dakota Formation classifications outside of Colorado. The red coloration to the right is the Triassic Jelm Formation.
