Object history
Deutsch: Die gekreuzten Abtstäbe und der Pfaffenhut sind aus dem Wappen der zum 1. Januar 1976 eingegliederten Gemeinde Oberpfaffenhofen übernommen worden, die zur Dokumentation der kommunalen Eigenständigkeit noch kurz vor der Eingemeindung ein eigenes Wappen angenommen hatte (22. Dezember 1975). Der Pfaffenhut redet für den Ortsnamen Oberpfaffenhofen. Die gekreuzten Abtstäbe verweisen auf das Benediktinerkloster Benediktbeuern als der bedeutendsten Grundherrschaft im Gemeindegebiet von Weßling. Die Klostergüter zwischen Ammersee und Würm wurden bis in das 14. Jahrhundert im Amt Hochstadt verwaltet; Hochstadt war bis 1972 ebenfalls selbstständige Gemeinde. Der Waller steht für den Weßlinger See und die geografische Lage der Gemeinde. Die Tingierung in Silber und Blau verweist auf die wittelsbachische Landesherrschaft.
