Deutsch: Die Stadt Heinsberg führt ein Wappen, ein Dienstsiegel und eine Flagge (Banner). Die Berechtigung hierzu ist der Stadt mit Urkunde des Regierungspräsidenten Köln vom 2. Oktober 1974 - AZ - 31.21.04 - verliehen worden. „Das Wappen zeigt in Rot einen zwiegeschwänzten, bekrönten, silbernen Löwen.“ Das jetzige Wappen wurde von den Herren von Heinsberg seit Dietrich II (1192 - 1228) geführt. Dietrich II war mit Isolda von Limburg verheiratet, sodass man heute annimmt, dass der Löwe aufgrund verwandtschaftlicher Beziehungen dem Limburger Wappen entnommen wurde.
English: „The arms show the lion of the Lords of Heinsberg. Heinsberg received city rights in the middle of the 13th century and all seals and arms since show the two-tailed lion of the Lords of Heinsberg. The arms were confirmed on October 2, 1974 after the merger with the other municipalities.“
