Object history
Deutsch: Das Wappen wurde am 14. August 1973 vom Rat der Gemeinde beschlossen. Die Windmühle steht für die früher zahlreichen Mühlen im Gemeindegebiet, von denen noch fünf erhalten sind. Die Eicheln (für den Upstalsboom) und die Farben Gold und Rot sind dem Wappen des Landkreises Aurich entnommen. Die Wellenteilung weißt auf die Fehnkanäle und Tiefs im Gemeindegebiet hin.
