Object history
Deutsch: Das am 15. Juli 1969 vom Präsidenten des Niedersächsischen Verwaltungsbezirks Oldenburg genehmigte Wappen entstammt dem am 5. November 1936 vom Reichsstatthalter von Oldenburg und Bremen verliehenen Wappensiegel. Das Seeblatt symbolisiert die Gründung der Gemeinde durch die Grafen von Tecklenburg. Der Stern entstammt dem Wappen der Familie Pennethe, die ehemals das Gut Lage gründete und in Quakenbrück und Vechta viele Burgmänner stellte.
