D6,_builder's_photograph,_1884.jpg (758 × 439 pixels, file size: 78 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

Description
English: A Hunslet Engine Company builder's photograph of Western Australian Government Railways (WAGR) D class locomotive no. 6, builder's number 331 of 1884.

Some of the information in the description above is obtained from Gunzburg, Adrian (1984). A History of WAGR Steam Locomotives. Perth: Australian Railway Historical Society (Western Australian Division), p. 25. ISBN 0959969039.

As the photograph is a builder's publicity photograph, it would have been first published in about 1884. Alternatively, it was first published more than 25 years ago, in Gunzburg (1984), p. 25 (courtesy of Hunslet Holdings PLC), and therefore no publication right can now apply.

Gunzburg does not identify the author, and it is reasonable to assume that this is because as of 1984 the photograph had been taken 100 years earlier, and therefore the author could not be ascertained by reasonable enquiry, whether in 1984 or now.
