Summary

[edit]

The runic text of one page of the "Skånske lov" has been transliterated to Latin letters, hoping thereby to be of some assistance to those who'd like to read the runes directly from the codex. Not every letter was equally easy to read, although the whole manuscript as such is exceptionally clear. The main difficulty is probably the language which is sometimes difficult to understand, but only in a few places, and therefore the text as a whole is not too difficult. But, if an unclear rune falls within an unclear word, the result is somewhat uncertain. Since this occurs only in a few places on the transcribed page, the reader's challenge is just about right to make it interesting!
