This photogenic Post Office was featured on the sleeve of the LP of the Singing Postman who came from North Norfolk,though originally born in Bury ,Lancashire according to some sources , as Allan Smethurst. However, different stories are told... www.london-books.co.uk/speakers_postman.html (the Allan Smethurst of Bury was born in 1922, not 1927) and nobody was named as such anywhere in 1927). Once again, the web is a source of confusion. An Allan Francis Smethurst died in 2000. The Bickers coach concern was also based in Coddenham. |
