DescriptionCoalport West railway station in 1963.jpg
English: Coalport railway station, Coalport West railway station, Shropshire While its counterpart on the eastern side of the Severn had been rotting into dereliction for some 11 years, the ex-Great Western station at Coalport West was still actively in business in 1963 when this photograph was taken. Here, a single-unit railcar from Shrewsbury forms an afternoon departure for Hartlebury. Sadly, however, the infamous Beeching was on the warpath, and it was not long before this station followed its near neighbour into the land of memories, leaving the inhabitants of Coalport little alternative but to acquire a motor car if they wished to visit their County town.
