Magyar: A Kende és a Kölcsey család címere

E nemzetségről és a családról e fejezet bevezető részében van bővebben szó. A Szente-Mágócs nemzetségből származik s közös törzs a Kölcsey családdal. A XIV. században vált e család két ágra. Közös birtokaikon 1315-ben osztoztak meg. Első őse Kölcse ispán 1181 előtt kapta királyi adományban a vármegyében Kölcse, Istvándi, Kóród, Csécse, Cseke, Milota, Czégény községek birtokait, ő építtette fel a czégényi monostort. Erre tett adományait a király 1181-ben megerősíti. Máté fia Dénes fiainak pere támadt I. Károly királylyal, melyet I. Lajossal is folytatnak, míg a király 1344-ben lemond minden követeléséről s megerősíti Dénes fiait a czégényi monostor kegyuraságában, valamint Kölcse, Istvándi, Kóród, Cseke, Csécse, Milota, Kömörő, Szekeres, Ökörító és Ete-Tyukod falvak birtokában. A jelenleg virágzó nemzedék őse I. Bálint, kinek fiai Lőrincz, Péter, a családot két fő-ágban terjesztették tovább, míg Péterét: Tamás (1614) vármegyei alispán folytatta. Tagjai közül: András 1658-ban, Gábor 1666-ban, Ádám 1673-ban, Ferencz 1680-ban alispánok. - Sándor 1684-ben főszolgabíró. - Mihály 1692-ben, Zsigmond 1709-ben, László 1727-ben, Pál 1758-ban, másik Zsigmond 1832-ben alispánok. - Gusztáv 1846-ban főszolgabíró. - Másik Zsigmond 1850-ben királybiztos. - A család jelenleg élő tagjai: Zsigmond, cs. és kir. kamarás, nagybirtokos, ennek fia György jogtudor, tart. huszárhadnagy. - Béla volt országgy. képviselő, nagybirtokos.

Czímer: Zöld sárkánynyal övezett kék pajzsban pánczélos kar, három természetes liliomot tart. Kísérők ezüstfélhold és hatágú aranycsillag. Sisakdísz ugyanaz. Takarók: kékarany.
