Summary

Description
English: DNA within the nucleus of a mammalian cell is usually packaged in the form of chromatin, where the DNA is wrapped around eight histone proteins to form a nucleosome and then connected to a subsequent nucleosome by linker DNA. When an )enhancer is activated to increase transcription of a target gene, the nucleosomes need to be evicted to allow transcription factors to bind to the enhancer region of DNA to control initiation of transcription.
