Summary

Description
English: The golden crab (Chaceon fenneri), is a large ("dinner-plate sized") bottom-dwelling crab found in the Atlantic Ocean off South Eastern U.S. and the Gulf of Mexico. It is also known as the golden deepsea crab. The fish on the photo is a blackbelly rosefish (Helicolenus dactylopterus).

This example was photographed at the Charleston Bump, just offshore from Charleston, South Carolina, USA by Betty Wenner, SCDNR.
