Catmull-Clark_limit_surface_of_Cube_(compare_sphere).png (540 × 540 pixels, file size: 421 KB, MIME type: image/png)

Summary

Description
English: The UV Sphere (green) has greater radius along the XYZ axes. The Catmull-Clark subdivided cube (magenta) at 5 levels of subdivision still protrudes beyond the sphere's surface at the corners and edges. This helps to see how the limit surface is not a perfect sphere although it looks like one. Created with Blender 2.91.0.
