Nine miles north of the town of Port Orford, Oregon, the Cape Blanco lighthouse sits on the westerly most point of Oregon. Built in 1870 to warn ships of the cliffs and reefs of the coast, it serves as a stately, tall sentry of the sea. The second order Fresnel lens had been damaged by vandals and was, along with the lantern room, completely restored in 2003.
