English: The engraving Canon de 24 centimètres monté sur son affût was part of a series of images published in the Revue Maritime et Coloniale 1867. The other images show stages of the production proces.

The diameter of the gun is bigger behind the trunnions than at the trunnions. This is in accordance with descriptions of the early systems of ringing described in the Aide-Mémoire d'artillerie Navale 1873.

The carriage consists of an upper carriage sliding over a frame and is very low, which indicates that it was intended for a battery deck.

De diameter van het kanon achter de tappen is groter dan ter hoogte van de tappenas zelf. Dit is conform de beschrijving van de eerste systemen van omringing beschreven in de Aide-Mémoire d'artillerie Navale 1873.

De affuit bestaat uit een bovenstuk dat over een frame schuift en is zeer laag. Dit duidt er op dat het hier gaat om een batterij affuit voor gebruik op een kuildek.
