Description
English: Work titled "Candombe federal, época de Rosas". Oil on canvas, 96 × 76.5 cm. Museo Histórico Nacional (Buenos Aires, Argentina). One of three known versions of the painting.[1] Shows General Juan Manuel de Rosas at a candombe. A publisher of one of the versions indicated the scene illustrated an 1838 event.[1] Little is know of the paintings’ creation or whether they were exhibited.[1] Also unclear when paintings were made. [1]
Date Unknown, A version existed in 1903.
