Das Hochhaus ist vom Plattenbau-Typ Punkthaus Wohnbaureihe Erfurt (WBR Erfurt). Entwickelt 1969 vom VE Wohnungsbaukombinat Erfurt, Entwurf: Gert Widder, Günther Hähndel, Käthe Schul, Lutz Braumbach. Hier: Das Bild wurde vom Becken der Wasserspiele aufgenommen, heute Vilniuser Straße (links) und Mainzer Straße (vor den Wohntürmen). Blick hinüber in die Kasseler Straße.
