DescriptionBritish Trolleybuses Ashton under Lyne.jpg
British Trolleybuses - Ashton-under-Lyne.
An Ashton trolleybus stands in Stalybridge Bus Station ready to depart on the route to Manchester (Piccadilly) on the last day of trolleybus operation. Although Stalybridge never operated trolleybuses - they had run trams as part of a joint undertaking with Hyde, Mossley and Dukinfield - they nevertheless did own the overhead wires within the local authority area.
The Bus Station has been modernised, but apart from the low building to the right which was part of the bus station, the other buildings all still exist. Trolleybus 83 was a 1956 BUT 9612T.
