Summary

Description
English: Rand Corporation land gamma dose rate fallout pattern for 14.8 Bravo nuclear test of 1 March 1954.
Source Rand report RM-1855, January 1957, "Fallout Computations and Castle Bravo - A Case Study" by S. M. Greenfield and R. Robert Rapp. This is based on a computer fallout model based on the measured fallout particle size distribution and with the wind pattern modified to fit the measurements on downwind atolls. Units are roentgens per hour in air measured 3 feet above ground, at 48 hours after burst. There is also a version of this fallout pattern in DASA-1251-2-EX (compilation of U. S. fallout patterns) online at http://worf.eh.doe.gov/data/ihp1d/1362e.pdf which is of lower quality (bad scan) and scaled to 1 hour after burst using a decay law (which is confusing to readers, since the fallout did not actually arrive on the ground until many hours after detonation).

This geology image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}.

It is recommended to name the SVG file “Bravo RAND Corp.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.
