English: Bodelwyddan Castle. The original house was bought by Sir William Williams, Speaker of the House of Commons in the late 17th century. The house was remodelled between 1802 and 1808 in the ‘‘Strawberry Hill’’ Gothic style, by Sir John Williams, 1st Baronet (1761–1830). The house was then further reconstructed between 1830 and 1832 by w:Sir John Hay-Williams, 2nd Baronet (1794–1859) in the Castellated Gothic rival style. The architects employed were Joseph Hansom and Edward Welch who extended the house on the south side and added many machicollated towers and turrets. Now a Warners Hotel. Part of the castle is used as a popular hotel run by Warners, who are part of the Bourne Leisure Group. Part Art Gallery.
