Français : Vue, plan et coupe de l'église de Samari. Cette église, la plus complète et la mieux conservée de toutes celles que nous avons vues en Grèce, est remarquable par la complication de ses combles qui lui donnent un caractère très-pittoresque. Comme tous les monuments de ce genre, sa construction se compose de moellons et de briques liés par un mortier de terre et de chaux. A l'intérieur, qui est entièrement couvert de peintures à fresque, représentant des sujets tirés de l'Ecriture-Sainte, sont deux colonnes en marbre veiné, supportant l'un des côtés de la coupole du milieu; deux colonnes et deux piliers en pierre noircis par le temps soutiennent le porche d'entrée de la façade principale; et une autre colonne, également en pierre, porte l'angle du porche latéral. Près de cette église sont des fragments de colonnes qui paraissent avoir appartenu à un monument antique.
