Public domain. This work was originally published in the 1943 Michiganensian, the University of Michigan yearbook. It had to have the copyright renewed sometime in the 28th year. If the copyright was not renewed, the work is in the public domain. Online searches of the U.S. Copyright Office's Copyright Records web site for University of Michigan yearbooks known as the "Michiganensian" revealed no renewal entry for the 1943 Michiganensian. Similar searches of the Stanford University Copyright Renewal Database reveal no copyright renewals for the 1943 Michiganensian. Accordingly, it appears the copyright was not renewed and therefore it is in the public domain according to either criteria. |
