View SE of surviving platforms of station (closed to passengers 1/2/51, goods 6/2/61) on former East Lancashire Line (Manchester - Bury - Accrington - Burnley), looking towards Bury and Manchester. The route was closed completely on 5/12/66, except for Bury - Ramsbottom on the line to Rawtenstall (closed for passengers 2/6/72, goods 1982?). (On 25/7/87, Bury - Ramsbottom was reopened by the Heritage East Lancashire Preserved Railway).
