DescriptionBassett's Pole Public House and signpost - geograph.org.uk - 369725.jpg
English: Bassett's Pole Public House and signpost The signpost marks the boundary between the counties of Stafford and Warwick. The inscription at the base of the signpost(Pole) reads: "On this site Lord Bassett of Drayton set up a boundary pole in the reign of King John and the year of Our Lord 1201". It is said that in the 18th/19th centuries the Pole was tall enough to be visible for quite a distance for travellers to find their way across the heath.
