English: Basingstoke Canal I have attempted to get the position right based on a knowledge of where we parked, the side of the towpath and the satellite imagery on what little can be seen of the houses. I would be most grateful if anybody could verify this for me. It would be a real shame not to use the image because it can't be pinned down to six figures.
The canal was still being restored and dredging was being performed by the Grafton grab dumb dredger Perseverance - now in the Ellesmere Port Boat Museum.
