English: The Basilica of Our Lady of the Pine contains the image of Our Lady of the Pine, who is the patron saint of Gran Canaria. The legend is that in 1481 the image of the Virgin Mary appeared on top of a pine tree where the present church is located. In 1914 Pope Pio X declared her as the patron saint of Gran Canaria. The church was constructed in 1760 and is located in the Plaza del Pino. The church has three naves and one tower at the corner of the façade. The style of the church is Baroque, with Neoclassic details. The church also has some architectural details that are typical of the Canary Islands.
