Summary

Description
English: The opening of the Bandsmen's Memorial rotunda, Botanic Gardens, Christchurch. This was the first memorial in New Zealand to be erected to the memory of bandsmen who fell in the Great War. It was designed by S. & A. Luttrell and erected in 1926. It was opened by Sir Heaton Rhodes and the general scene at the ceremony is shown.
