English: The old Balsam School in 1940. It is often mistaken to be the Johns Creek School, but it is the Balsam School, and it still stands near the Balsam Mountain Inn, and is surrounded by a road, railroad track, brush, abandoned and occupied buildings, a basketball court, picnic shelter, playground, and gravel parking lot. It is an amazing building and should be on the National Register of Historic Places.
