DescriptionBallymena St. Patrick's Church W10 “Bear ye one another’s burdens” 2014 09 15.jpg
St. Patrick's Church, Ballymena, County Antrim, Northern Ireland
English: Three-light window at the western end of the south aisle, titled “Bear ye one another’s burdens” (Galatians 6:2) and depicting Saint Brigid. Dedication lines at the bottom: “Dedicated to the Glory of God and to commemorate the centenary of the Girls Friendly Society.” The original window with plain patterns appears to be from 1881, probably by Heaton, Butler & Bayne of London. Into this window Saint Brigid, the logo of the Girls' Friendly Society, and the dedication was inserted by Clokey & Co, Belfast. The Girls’s Friendly Society was founded in 1875 and spread to the Church of Ireland in 1877. (See gloine.ie record and girlsfriendlysociety.ie.)
