DescriptionAztec Sun stone depicting their concept of the universe.JPG
English: Aztec Sun Stone replica displayed at the Field Museum of Natural History (Stanley Field Museum), Chicago, USA. This is often mistakenly thought as a calendar stone, but it does not track days or months but represents the Aztec concept of the universe and the five worlds. The description at the Field Museum's "The Ancient Americas Exhibition" indicates that this 12 feet diameter replica was made from another replica at the University of Florida. Both the replicas were created from the original Sun Stone unearthed in Mexico City 1790. The original is now on display at the Museo Nacional de Antropología (National Museum of Anthropology),Mexico.
