Klippe medallion 27 x 27 mm. 11.05 g Ag Rössler, Stefan, Abbot, 1842 Ganz near Schwarzenau, Niederösterreich - 1923 Zwettl, Austria 5 lines below the arms of the abbot Rössler and the Cistercian monastery Zwettl Abbey: "IN DANKBARER ERINNERUNG AN DEN 21· MAI 1905". Around: "DIE ŒST· GES· F· MVENZ- u MEDAILLENKUNDE DEM EHRWVERDIGEN STIFT ZWETTL" / Jesus nailed against an oak tree, with the opening date of the monastery at its base: "1.JAN 1139". Edge numbering: "12". Wurzbach 9960 (Bronze); Peter Bystricky, Nr 1696 Master's Thesis 2019 Vienna Univesity (Bronze). Unedited in silver. Medallist: H.(Hans) Schaefer, 1875 Sternberg (Moravia) - 1933 Chicago, USA; and JC (minted by Christlbauer, Vienna.) Condition: UNCIRCULATED, nice old patina. |
