Summary

Ink Rubbing of a Steele depicting one of the Eighteen Luohans, Asita. Steele was Carved during the Qing Dynasty under the Reign of Qianlong (1750 AD).

These steeles were commissioned and erected during the Qing Dynasty in an effort to duplicate and mass produce the original paintings by Guan Xiu of the 18 Luohans that were painted during the Late Tang Dynasty.
